A couple of my Tesla Model S lug nut covers fell off so I came to Thingiverse to find an alternative and found these: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3096177 While these look awesome I need to swap in snow tires each year requiring me to remove the covers twice a year and I didn't believe the caps were going to stay attached to the base even if glued. I also didn't like having to glue the tiny letters to the cap. My design makes the cap and base a single part and the letters are inserted into the cover and held in place by friction. Which Tesla do these fit? I have verified these fit the Tesla Model S and X. They may fit the Model 3 and Y but I will need someone to confirm Printing Instructions It is recommended to use ABS filament as it won't degrade with UV exposure. ABS has a tendency to be very dimensionally unstable but some brands are better than others. I have had great results with Hatchbox ABS. The covers should fit snuggly on the lug nut, if they don't you might need to adjust the scaling on your slicer *Caps can be printed with no supports with the cap side down on the build plate with 100% infill. *Letter Inserts these print easily with the letter/logo side up with 100% infill. If your slicer supports ironing that can be used to produce a smoother finish on the letters or you can print with supports and letter side down on the build plate for the best finish. *Insert Tool prints easily with the circle side on the build plate Assembly There is a different-sized notch to help orient the letter correctly. Line up the notch and use the insert tool to press it firmly into place against a hard flat surface. The letter inserts are a tight fit Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: I3 MK3S Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100 Filament: Hatchbox ABS Black/Red Category: Automotive
