What this site is

CarCad Index is a search index of 3D-printable car parts published on public maker platforms. We link to the original listing on the source platform — we do not host, distribute, or sell the 3D files themselves, and we are not affiliated with any of the platforms or vehicle manufacturers named on this site. Brand and model names are used only to describe what a part fits.

Content and images

The 3D models linked here belong to their respective designers and are subject to whatever license they chose on the source platform. Every listing links back to the original, where the designer and license are shown. Check the license on the source page before you download, remix, or sell anything.

Each listing may include a preview image taken from the source listing, shown so you can identify the part. All rights in those images remain with their owners. If you own a model or image and do not want it indexed here, use the takedown process below and we will remove it.

Takedown requests (DMCA)

If you believe content on CarCad Index infringes your copyright or trademark, send a notice through our inquiry page (choose "Other") that includes: (1) the URL of the listing on CarCad Index, (2) the work you claim is infringed and why, (3) your name and contact information, (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, and (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for them. We aim to act on complete notices within a few business days and will remove the listing while we review. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Designers who simply prefer not to be indexed don't need to go through all of that — just tell us which listing and that you're the author, and we'll take it down.

User submissions

When you submit a part, you confirm that the link points to a publicly available listing, that you have the right to share it, that any image you upload is one you own or are licensed to use, and that the content does not violate any laws or anyone's rights. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display what you submit as part of the index. We may edit, reject, or remove submissions at our discretion, with or without notice.

Safety — print at your own risk

The parts indexed here are made by hobbyists and shared as-is. We have not tested them and have no way of knowing whether a given part is suitable for your vehicle or for any purpose. 3D-printed parts can fail without warning, and some are unsuitable for anything safety-related. You alone are responsible for deciding what to print and install, for checking fit and material suitability, and for complying with any vehicle, safety, or road-use regulations that apply to you. Do not use parts from this index for anything where failure could injure someone.

No warranty

This site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of listings, the quality or safety of linked parts, or the availability of external content.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CarCad Index and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, property damage, personal injury, or vehicle damage, arising out of your use of this site or of any part or content it links to — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the site will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (which is nothing — the site is free) or fifty US dollars (US$50). Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless CarCad Index and the people who run it from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you submit, your use of any part you found through the site, or your violation of these terms or of anyone else's rights.

Accounts and termination

You are responsible for keeping your login secure. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, abuse the platform, or submit infringing content, and to discontinue the site at any time. You can delete your own account from the account page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Changes

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest change, and signed-in users are shown a notice when there is a material change. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
