I didn't like any of the existing designs including the ones you can buy because they will all eventually fail due to torque where the metal key meets the thin plastic fob case. This design is super sturdy around the key as it is a single piece that wraps all the way around the key. 💪 Sturdy - new design that can stand up to the torque of turning the key in the ignition🏃 Fast - less than a 30 minute print✅ Simple - Only 2 pieces. No weird small pieces that will break or get lost🔧 Maintainable - Easy to separate as there are no clips, just slide out the base after removing the screw🎨 Colorful - Print in any color you want, not just the boring blackRecommendationsThe top is a slight bit rounded, so adaptive layers make a world of difference in the finish.After printing, take your time to make sure you get all the support material out.AssemblyTake apart the original fob and get a small screwdriver.You will need a small phillips head screwdriver like those used for glasses.Make sure you save the small screw.If there is one, remove the plastic sheath around the metal key. In the new 3d printed fob case top, slide the metal key through the slot near the keyring and then through the key slot.
