Give it a like!2/11/25:TLDR: print the camera shield g lower.stl version. Chamfer the inner base edge slightly after printing to better match the radius on the camera. No longer a quick and dirty version. I have added a new version based on view obstruction analysis of the original version. The original version obstructed a very small section of view at the extreme left and right edges. Note that you cannot see the obstruction when looking at the camera views from inside the car, you have to look at the sentry cam videos. The videos capture a wider field of view than is shown in the car. See the pics (you'll need to click on them to see the side view obstruction details). Also added some material where it doesn't impact camera view and adjusted the interface with the fascia surrounding the camera to fit just a little better. The additions may help with durability (the thinnest area is now stronger) and protecting the camera better.Original description (11/20/2024):It was recently announced that Tesla is adding a splash shield to the Model 3 and Y for 2025.https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/2385/tesla-makes-rear-camera-revision-to-2025-model-3-and-model-yThis is a hack and slash model replicating the shield as best I can see from the published photo. No idea how well it works. :)This fits on a 2024 Model 3 (Highland) and Y. Prior years unknown. It's currently a friction fit. It's very light and the loads are low but we'll see how long it lasts. Printing details are not critical. I printed in ASA for durability at .18 layer height,Edit 11/22/24: Added a deeper model (thicc). This is 1mm taller with the points lopped off to avoid camera view. Which is better? These will likely need help to stay on long term. A little dab of silicone should hold it on well enough but be easily removable without permanent effect. Even a small piece of double-backed tape should do it. Making the ID smaller/tighter won't work as the thin section will just stretch out (at least with the shallower version. We'll see if the deeper one is better).2/7/25 update: over 2 months after installation with nothing other than the slight interference fit and it is still attached. This surprises me, but it weighs next to nothing so no real forces pulling it off.
