Need a place to store your phone out of sight while driving? This model provides a simple solution to store your phone in your VW Scirocco or Golf 5 underneath the center console climate controls, while still being able to connect it to a charger via a cutout at the side.To mount it in your car use 2 strips of double sided sticky tape running from front to back (the reason for this is because of the slight curve in the center console). For better adhesion to the plastic you can try to make small cuts in the plastic to give it more texture. For me it has survived a hot summers inside my car without issues. Your mileage may vary depending on the tape you use. I have also added small felt stickers to the sides and back to keep the phone from knocking into the sides during cornering. The space is 17.2cm wide and about 8.5cm deep so it should fit most phones.There is a ridged version (as pictured) and a smooth version. The ridge serves to keep your phone from flying out under hard acceleration, but this does not seem to be absolutely necessary since it is already positioned at an angle.
