2005 - 2007 Infiniti G35 Coupé (Nissan Skyline) Ashtray Cubby ReplacementPrint this out to replace the inner ashtray assembly at the centre console of your G35.This is for the 2005 - 2007 G35 "refresh" models. I personally have a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupé but this may work with the Sedan as well.The source file is included so you can modify it to do anything you want! (Not just a cubby space) G35-Ashtray-Replacement.FCStd is the source file and can be opened with FreeCADAssembly instruction below.Here's a video of it in action: https://youtu.be/Lg47pvRxM0gPost-PrintingAssemblyPlace the spring similar to how its oriented in the second image below, onto the inner ashtray assembly. The image below shows the spring in tension, so when you originally place it, the short end will be at point "A" in the image.Notice how the short end of the spring is closer to the body, and the long end is away. Insert the ashtray into its housing and insert the shafts to secure it. Position the long end of the spring as shown. Once there, hold it down with a wooden stick or other tool. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to take the short end of the spring current at position "A" to position "B". This is may be a bit tricky, but small needle-nose pliers should do the trick. Remove the bracing stick or tool used in step #3. Unscrew to detach the damper assembly on the sides of the housing. Pop off the original blue gear and replace it with the printed one. There is a screw on the other side to remove the damping assembly and make it possible to change the gear. Reassemble the damper assembly.
